Mr Southavy Aphayarath, Room Division Manager

Southavy was born into a farm family in a village outside of Vientiane. In those days, the Lane-Xang Hotel was the only first-class hotel in Vientiane. People from the village returned from the city with stories of the hotel … and such wonders seemed impossible for a small child to believe. It was at that time Southavy decided that one day he would work at the mystical Lane-Xang. When he was 17, Southavy went to school in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and graduated with a high school diploma. Upon returning to Lao PDR, he continued his education in 1996 by taking a Hotel Management course, with some of the training taking place in Japan. Southavy has been working at the Lang-Xang for 12 years. He started at the Reception Desk, became Head of Reception in 1997 and Front Office Manager in 1999. Yes, his dream has come true. Now he focuses on guest satisfaction and comfort so that their dreams can come true too!
